Mac and Denise McIntosh are the kinda people you want as friends and clients. They’re the very best kind of crazy.
In a recent call with their senior staff, Mac shared a great – but really hard – question with me that he asked his team. I think we all need to ask our employees today.
Please tell me: What are two things you don’t think I want to hear about our company?
And I’m going to add a second part to the question.
How you would go about improving them?
This is going to be a hard list to read, and your team is going to have to feel safe to share the hard truths and their solutions.
And that’s not the end of this… it’s just the beginning (told you it was really hard). It’s going to lead to series of conversations in your company – but these conversations will be a springboard for you all to work together as a company to improve the company.
I know… it’s crazy, and it’s hard. If it was easy, everyone would do it. But if you want to amp up your momentum heading into a new year, I think you need to be this very best kind of crazy, too.
I’m sending those questions to my team right now. How about you?
Update: A wickedly smart acquaintance, John Quarto-vonTivadar, added a third question via LinkedIn…
