As we are kicking off another season of travel and holidays for our team, it seems like time is going to fly by way too fast between now and the end of the year. Blink and it’s Halloween; blink again and Thanksgiving is here; half a blink, we are to Christmas; finish that blink and it’s New Years.
It can be a time of stress and anxiety for many but I want to encourage everyone to try to take the time to enjoy it. Look for the little things that bring you joy: the leaves falling, seasonal lattes (if that’s your thing), the delight your children take in picking out their costumes. There are so many things to be thankful for but if we aren’t careful we will skip right past them. Make the blinks last a little longer.
Stuff we wrote this past week:
On Tuesday, Tim has had a song stuck in his head recently. Can you relate? Are You An Outsider, Too?
On Wednesday, this week on The Funny Business Podcast, Tim and Ryan discussed their forthcoming book. It’s been years in the making and now it’s only a month away.
On Thursday, an (un)official press release announced the commencement of International Silly Sarah Day. In honor of this momentous occasion we encourage you to tap into your silly side – ride an alligator, do a dance, put pineapple on your pizza (just kidding, please never do that).
On Friday, our love of all things adorable puppies shone through in this week’s Practically Social along with some “facts” about The Princess Bride and other things for your entertainment.
Stuff we liked this week:
First, a Stranger Things pop up bar opened in Chicago. Super cool, minus the fact they forgot to get permission from Netflix. So, instead of a ton of lawyer-speak, Netflix sent what may be the nicest cease and desist letter ever written.
Second, Jeff Sexton wrote an awesome article about selling the steak through the sizzle. Check it out. Seriously. Do it.
Third, trying to figure out when you should renew your passport that is expiring soon-ish? DO IT NOW.
Fifth, Jentree has some serious emotional intelligence for a 2 year old.
How can we help you?
Well, so that’s a start to our weekend and yours as well. We’ll grow this a little over time as we add content and think of other stuff. During the week, we’re primarily going to write about the five major levels of The First Order of Business, and we’ll share our best tips on management, marketing, and motivation.
In addition, we take requests. Please don’t hesitate to contact us if there’s a topic you’d like us to tackle.
Thanks for your time! Enjoy your weekend!
