Typically, I’m shopping online or in stores for a great gift, but this year has turned into the year of handmade gifts for me, thanks to a few new items I’ve acquired this year and to Etsy.
LARGE
Ryobi cordless nail gun. This was my Mother’s Day gift from Tim and it is fantastic. It is battery powered and allows you to work on projects without a noisy air compressor. Not intimidating at all. Love, love, love! So far it has allowed me to make picture frames, mirror frames, art pieces, and furniture.
Battery and charger sold separately, but this Ryobi cordless system has many other tools that work off the same battery pack:
Kreg Jig. This was a present to myself this year. This tool will easily help you join together wood by pre-drilling pocket holes. I have used it to make frames and smaller furniture pieces. There’s now a kitchen table on my future building list as well.
MEDIUM
Etsy is full of custom-made, personalized gifts that will be sure to please.
I bought a friend of mine this pillow for her anniversary and she loved it, and said she’s gotten many compliments. (Thanks for the idea Lynn!)
Here are a couple more great ideas, but really, when it comes to Etsy, there's something perfect for everyone on your list.
SMALL
Pampered Chef spatula (excellent!) and Rachel Ray scrapers. These two items are my favorites for baking. If you have a cook in your family, there can never be too many of these in your kitchen drawer. Even if you don’t give these gifts away, you can get them for yourself to help bake holiday treats for others! The gift that keeps on giving. 🙂
