We’ve been dusting and sprucing and fixing up. We’re getting ready for Open House at Miles and Company.
About two and a half years ago, I joined my brother and sister-in-law, Tim and Deidre Miles, and their partner, Ryan Patrick, in this little company. Our goal then, and still today, is to help as many people as possible. As corny as it sounds, we really believe we can help to unlock the potential in people and companies and every day we work hard to do just that.
In the next few days will be incentivizing you to invite your friends to take a look. We’re all busy people and so we promise to keep The Daily Blur a quick read, a speedy breakfast for your brain. We talk about marketing, but we also talk about life stuff like productivity, goal-setting, and strategic planning. All these things are really key before you can even start to talk about your marketing and media plan.
As you get to know us, you find out we’re all pretty different, and we also hope you’ll find out that we’re all a lot of fun. In fact, we promise not to take ourselves too seriously. The work we do on behalf of our clients, now that’s serious business, but the rest of it should give you a lighthearted feeling at the end of the day.
One of the ways I keep my work fun and focused is by doodling and so I’ve thrown in for the upcoming prize package a pack of my favorite markers. I feel like you just can’t beat the Sharpie Ultrafine Point. There’s the classic Bic Flair and the new Sharpie pens and I’ve tried some of the Pilot products, but I always go back to my Sharpie Ultrafine. Clearly, I think a lot about pens.
Lately I’ve been exploring Doodle Theory. Studies show doodling can keep your mind active as you listen and take notes so you process and learn more effectively. I’ve enjoyed learning to take notes graphically. My Sharpie Ultra Fine and a thick paper notebook are all I need. I create pages that explain when I’m hearing, filled with pictures and drawings and outlines and borders. Tim’s taken to calling them “Lynnfographics.” Isn’t that special? Brothers!
So get ready for a great couple of weeks here at The Daily Blur. And if you find a better pen than the Sharpie Ultra Fine, be sure to let me know!
