It’s going to be a special week here at The Daily Blur.
We are celebrating some great things at our little company. We officially connected with three new-to-us companies on Friday, and we couldn’t be more excited about helping them grow. Here at our house, we are eagerly anticipating the arrival of our new puppy, Adelaide, in a couple of weeks. And Tim bought some new socks he’s really excited about.
Tomorrow, Tim will tell you all about the overwhelming response to his request for a guinea pig. We love all our readers like regular pigs love truffles, so we figured selecting one was going to be nearly impossible. Until I read the fourth email we received. I called Tim right away: “We’ve got our winner.” “What, already?!” “Yep!” And when you read the story tomorrow, you’ll know why. We apologize in advance if you ugly-cry.
On Wednesday, Ryan Patrick will tell you his son Charlie’s story. Charlie is in for the fight of his life this week. A lot of good people are pulling for Charlie and more than a few million prayers are being lifted on his behalf. So far, many of our readers along with friends and family have generously pitched in to help. I’ve had an opportunity to preview Ryan’s post and it’s a story you won’t forget.
Last Friday, in spite of all the celebrating, I found myself in a rotten mood, complaining about everything and nothing at all. I was texting the Head Custodian of our company. He was very patient and encouraging.
He texted: “I want you to be happy.”
I texted back: “You know what, I am happy. I just forget sometimes…”
This week, I won’t forget to be happy.
I will count my blessings.
I will give thanks.
I will sleep when I should and eat when I need to.
And I will keep Charlie Patrick and his family in my thoughts and prayers.

“This week, I won’t forget to be happy.”
I think the better mantra is “This week, I won’t forget that I am happy.” 🙂

Amy – you are absolutely correct! Thanks for weighing in with a great reminder for this week and every week!
