Just because…

Just because you’re open, doesn’t mean I’ll come.
Just because you sell, doesn’t mean I’ll buy.
Just because you cook, doesn’t mean I’ll eat.
Just because you build, doesn’t mean I’ll invest.
Just because you knock, doesn’t mean I’ll answer.
Just because you write, doesn’t mean I’ll read.
Just because you create, doesn’t mean I’ll care.

I need to know who you are.
What you stand for.
What you stand against.
Where you’ve been.
Where you’re going.
And why I should trust you.

You’re not entitled to my business.
Don’t presume I know who you are.

Want me to notice?
Introduce yourself.

Share your story.
Start a conversation.
Prove you care about me.
Make me care about you.

Don’t talk at me.
Talk to me.
About me.
And how you’ll help me be the best me I can be.

Then, when I’m ready, I will respond.
