“I can’t believe you guys share this stuff for free!”
“Thanks for being so willing to share your stuff.”
These are a couple comments we’ve received in the last few days.
Lynn’s post on Monday outlined a fantastic plan to help you determine your company’s goals and values in only seven days.
Why would we share that? Why would we share the thing?
Because THAT’S one of our values: We freely share what we hope will be better, more useful information to help your owner-operated company or nonprofit organization grow.
We believe that’s why we were put on this earth. We believe it’s our ministry.
And we believe that good companies and non-profits who like our style and would like to learn more about working with us will reach out to us to ask about our services. It’s why we don’t openly solicit business.
We believe we’ll grow by helping anyone willing to do the work to grow for free.
We call it The Daily Blur. Every weekday we share free, brief, actionable, thoughtful advice on marketing, productivity, leadership, and motivation. You can read it here, you can subscribe via RSS here, or you can sign up to receive it every weekday via email here:
We value your privacy and will never share, sell, lease or even trade your email address for a pinball machine.
And we also believe a few good companies will say, “Wow, if they share this, I wonder what their secret stuff is?”
Well, yes, we do have diagnostics at each level we don’t share publicly, but it’s more about bridging the levels and connecting dots – often dots that other people never see.
In the past six months, we’ve turned down potentially more business than to which we’ve said “yes.”
I tell you that because sometimes sticking to your values to reach your goals makes the mountain a little taller.
But it’s that much more rewarding as you and your company make the climb together.
