Have you ever seen a headstone with these words,
“If only I had spent more time at work.”

Tomorrow in the U.S., many Americans will get a day off to help our nation blow out 237 candles.
Will you spend your Fourth gorging on hot dogs, tubing at the lake, and blowing stuff up?
Or will you be thinking about work?
Yeah, I know. I used to be you.
I rarely, if ever, took a day off. In fact, my employer once FORCED me take a day off. And when I did, my entire day was spent worrying that my absence would cause the office building to crumble to the ground.
A few chest pains, a hospital stay, and two stress tests later, I finally stopped worrying about work and gave myself permission to rest.
How about you? Can you allow yourself a day to unplug from the wild world inside your office walls and reap the rewards of some well-deserved R&R?
Tomorrow, our nation’s forefathers are giving you permission to rest.
Do it.
Savor it.
Remember, even God took a day off.
And if He had to do it…
