There has been a rash of robberies lately at construction sites in my town. Local companies have lost some valuable assets more than a few times over the last few weeks. Construction tools, generators, even new bundles of brand-new still-tagged steel reinforcing bars.
The company my husband works for has been aggressive against this type of loss. They switched to puck locks, which cannot be cut off like traditional padlocks. But the crooks just saw through the side of the trailer and pull back the door like a sardine can. Contractors have parked heavy equipment surrounding the field trailer, only to have the bad guys crawl up and over and cut another hole. Perhaps most effective has been a meticulous recording of serial numbers of every saw and drill and generator. But still the thieves come in the night.
They have to continue to upgrade their security measures. But the fact is, stealers steal.
As a business owner, you must constantly upgrade your systems.
Not just to flummox criminals.
To stay ahead of your competition.
To delight your customers.
To support your employees.
When was the last time you examined and upgraded:
1. Your goals and values.
2. Your strategic plan.
3. Your website.
4. Your customer appreciation program.
5. Your mission statement.
6. Your outlook on life.
Strategically review what’s important on a regular basis. Avoid loss, but more importantly, enhance gain.

Great piece. Appropriately challenging and encouraging. You make it easy to take the next step.
