My city’s heart is heavy this week. From KOMU News:
COLUMBIA – Hundreds of people lined the highway and streets as a solemn procession led the body of Army SPC. Sterling Wyatt as he returned to Columbia. Dozens of Patriot Riders led the way along with members of the Columbia Police Department.
Wyatt was killed by an IED while stationed in Kandahar, Afghanistan.
Also from KOMU News:
Wyatt was assigned to the 5th Battalion, 20th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 2nd Infantry Division, Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington according to the department. His awards and decorations include: National Defense Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal with campaign star, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Ribbon, NATO Medal, Certificate of Achievement, and Combat Infantryman Badge.
A 2:22 video of the processional is embedded below. Click here if you can’t see it. Thank you, young man.
Thank you.

Like a lot of people I supported President Obama’s move to “bring the troops home.”
The ironic fallout from all that, which I am still trying to get a grip on, is that the troops which remain are far more vulnerable than when we had a stronger presence there, and never is that more obvious than when it hits this close to home(town).

So young, so full of life, it is just so very sad. Another son lays down his life for our freedom. May Wyatt rest in peace and his family know that we too have pain and sorrow in our hearts that he will not be forgotten.
God Bless you Wyatt!
