I happily received a 27″ Display and 11″ MacBook Air (both refurbs from Apple) on Friday. I took the opportunity to clean and unclutter my office.
Want to start off your week on the right foot? Unclutter. It’ll take you less than 30 minutes probably.
Actually, if it takes you more, you reeeeeeeally needed to do it.
Everything on or near your desk? It has a place. (Often, that place is the trash or recycling bin.)
Put it there.
Have one inbox – just one – where you collect things that need some sort of processing.
Process them.
Then, focus, breathe, and enjoy the white space that surrounds you. (Or, in my case, the walnutty space …)
Unclutter your workspace. Unclutter your mind. Unclutter your life.
It’s the best way to do great work.
Have a good, clean, free week, yo.
“God help us to live slowly
To move simply
To look softly
To allow emptiness
To let the heart create for us.
Amen.”

It’s amazing what 15-30 minutes a day in some area of your life of clutter control can do.
What I really liked, thought, was the prayer at the end. Very Quaker-like.

This is great advice! I’m going to declutter at once.
