We all agree pride is dangerous, right? I mean, heck, it’s one of the seven deadlies.
Yep, pride is bad… except when it’s not.
Last week, I was in our favorite grocery store walking by the meat department. The man behind the counter was telling a customer where to find something.
“Over there in the case, just under my ground beef,” he said, “and to the left of my turkey.”
That man had the very best kind of pride: pride of ownership.
He may work at Hy-vee (which is, in fact, employee-owned), but he works for his customers.
Do you have that kind of pride in your work?
So much so that you own it? That no matter who handles your payroll and taxes, you know—down deep—you truly work for your customer.
Those kinds of people? They give their employers—companies and customers alike—a tremendous sense of… well, you know.
