A plan five years in the making is about to come together.
About five years ago, I was with Tim at the University of Illinois when he gave a presentation to some college students as part of Dr. Collette Niland’s Social Entrepreneurship Institute. The talk was called “All the Difference.” It was in a word, different. In the talk, Tim shared his best advice on how to live a creative life.
I loved the content immediately and watched as the students in attendance that night soaked it up. At the time, I mentioned that I thought it would be a great little book. The kind of book I would pick up at a card shop or on the center table at a bookstore as a graduation gift. It needed to be beautiful and evocative in appearance; the content was already stellar.
Fast-forward to earlier this year. That’s when we met Anni Poppen of Mowgli Studio. Anni had been instrumental in the She Said Project in my city last fall. Everything about the website and graphics were perfect for that project and we set out to meet her. Anni Poppen (we always use both of her names when we speak of her or to her – I mean it’s a great name!) would be the perfect designer if we ever had a project.
Wait! A project? Tim’s talk on All The Difference? Graduation Season?
On Tuesday, Miles & Company will release a very special e-book. It’s Tim’s best advice for how to live a creative life. Perfect for graduates, and anyone you know who aspires to make a living being creative. It’s beautiful and full of truth.
Please join us for the release party we will be having in our heads and in our hearts on Tuesday. You can purchase All The Difference starting tomorrow, right here on The Daily Blur. And just wait ‘til you hear what we’ve decided to do with the profits!
I just love it when a plan comes together.
