1. 21 Killer Recruitment Questions – TheNextWeb picked this one up, and it made its rounds about the Internet (Thanks, Brad). It does help you create and craft powerful recruitment advertising – if you’re willing to make the effort.
2. 22 Lessons From The Chapman Family – Some of my favorite people and first clients retired this year. Here’s a list of things I learned from them.
3. 61 Public Speaking Tips – I’m fortunate to know a lot of people smarter than me. They were willing to share some great advice about how to be a more persuasive public speaker.
4. The Weirdest Advertising Question – This was the most fun I had at a seminar all year.
5. Advertising & The Pit of Mediocrity – This post reflects the biggest change in our company’s approach to marketing and advertising in the last year. It’s also been my obsession – how to improve the world of customer delight.

Tim. Re the material on recruitment. I have to share a short story. Many years ago I was dealing with a small computer distribution company. I had to take the owner to lunch one day to ask him this question – ” How on earth do you manage to hire such amazing order desk staff?” He said I should come over Saturday morning and watch. He had scheduled all the young people for the same interview time and they were all in the same room. He had their names in a hat and would simple pull a name and then – Jim or Tim or whatever – please tell us all why you feel you are the best person for the job as advertised. In about 15 minutes there were only 7 out of 20 still in the room and he ended up with 3 amazing young people and hired 2 of them. I followed the careers of both these people for a few years and they both did extremely well. The whole process took less than an hour and and was fun for some and terrorized the others. Have you ever heard of a process like this being used?
Many thanks for some great material.
Happy New year.
